Modern kitchens are so well equipped that it is easy to forget that our ancestors really just had an open fire for many years. Cooking and eating together has always been important but having appliances, electricity, running water and other luxuries are relatively new in the grand scheme of things. Take a journey back over past years to see where we started and where modern cooking and kitchens are now.
